IRS RESOLUTIONS

The Tax Law Practice offers a wide variety of IRS resolution services. We have represented many clients with various IRS needs over the years. If you think you are in need of our services we would be happy to talk to you. Below are some of the areas that we specialize in:

Offer in Compromise
Under some circumstances, you can settle your tax liability at a reduced amount. Why pay more than you have to. However, it is not my intent to give you any false expectation. This is a process guiding by rules and regulations. Contact The Tax Law Practice, LLC to determine whether this option is available to you.

Installment Agreement
The IRS ask that you to pay the tax amount you owe in full immediately if you have the financial ability to do so. They also encourage you to borrow from a private source to pay your tax liability in full before requesting an installment agreement. If you are unable to borrow from a private source, you may request to make monthly installment payments. Plan to make the largest monthly payment possible to limit the amount of interest you will have to pay. Interest and some penalties will continue to accrue until your balance is paid in full.

Currently Not Collectible
Currently Not Collectible means that a taxpayer has no ability to pay his or her tax debts. The IRS can declare a taxpayer "currently not collectible," after the IRS receives evidence that a taxpayer has no ability to pay. Such evidence is usually obtained from the taxpayer on IRS Form 433-F, Collection Information Statement. A taxpayer can request "currently not collectible" status by submitting Form 433-F to an IRS Revenue Officer or the IRS Automated Collection System unit.

Innocent Spouse
The mere fact that your spouse filed taxes jointly, does not necessarily mean that you are responsible for the tax liability. Under some circumstances, an innocent spouse may be relieved from owing a tax liability incurred by the other spouse. Contact The Tax Law Practice, LLC for more information.
